I’ve Gone Back to Work (And I’m Going to Get More Women Back to Paid Work)
Some journeys end where they began.

I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve joined IT staffing firm Akraya as the new Executive Director of Women Back to Work.
Yes, I’m going back to work to empower more women to go back to work. It’s truly perfect.
My career break and job search was a literal odyssey – a long quest, filled with adventures, challenges, and personal growth, that ultimately ended where it began. But much like Odysseus, I’m changed by my experiences and as I come into this new role I bring with me a new perspective and an appreciation for the obstacles women face when trying to get hired after taking time out of the paid workforce.
Which makes this new role so exciting. I’ve been a fan and admirer of Sonu Ratra, the co-founder of Akraya and founder of Women Back to Work for a decade. It’s going to be fun to work with her and see what the combined force of our passion and commitment to women’s equality in the paid workforce can do to push this movement forward.
And while I have your attention … We have a big conference coming up! To celebrate WBW’s 10 year anniversary we are hosting a day-long conference (in real life!) in Santa Clara, California. There will be inspiring speakers, Fortune 500 employers, and much more. And, if you register now, you can take advantage of our early bird pricing – just $39.99 for the full day, including lunch and snacks.
And, if you are an employer looking to engage talented people who are returning to the workforce after caregiving, hit “reply” on this message because I’d love to talk to you.
Amazing news Tami. Excited to watch from afar. Best of luck!
