Shot Through the Heart
Maddie had her two-month baby doctor appointment on Monday. She needed to have two shots. It's a cliche, and perhaps not true, to say it was harder on me than on her. But, unlike her, I'll definitely remember it. Wow did she scream! Preston and I are starting to think we can tell the difference between her cries, and I'm not sure I know what the pain cry sounds like. It's heartbreaking. And the face she makes. You can imagine she's thinking, "Why? Why are you doing this to me?"
Other than the shots the appointment was fine. She now weighs 9 lbs, 6 oz and measures 23 inches. The length is fine but the weight is a little light given her starting weight of 8 lbs. The doctor wants to re-weigh her next week.
She smiles more and more now and giggles, too. We have one of those floor gym thingies and she really likes it. You can set it to play a song and flash lights when she bats at the toys. She smiles and wiggles her whole body when she gets it to work.
